Hi, I’m Elisa-Maria. I’m so glad you found your way here.
Most of us didn’t grow up learning how to feel things, name them, and actually be with them. So when your nervous system goes into overdrive during a text thread, or your throat closes up in a conversation that matters—it makes sense.
With me, therapy is about gently working through the things that keep pulling you off-centre.
Together, we can:
Name, feel, and make space for emotions you’ve had to push down
Notice the thought patterns or behaviours that leave you feeling stuck
Explore how past experiences might still be shaping your present
Build your capacity to sit with discomfort and move through it
Develop tools and perspectives to shift how you show up in your relationships
A bit about how I work
I primarily work with adults navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, and complicated relationships—with others and with themselves.
I hold a Master’s in Education in Counselling and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
My approach is relational and trauma-informed—rooted in Emotion-Focused Therapy, AEDP, ACT, and Internal Family Systems. That means we go at your pace, follow what feels meaningful, and work with your body and emotions (not against them).
With couples, I draw from Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Relational Life Therapy to help you get out of the stuck pattern and back into connection—with honesty, care, and a little humour when it fits.
